This is an impressive little gas generator

Westinghouse WGen 3600 Range
The 3600 comes in three different types. a standard gas version, a wheeled model and a dual fuel option.
The WGen3600v is the standard model with a run time of up to 18 hours.
it makes use of a running watt of 3600 and a starting watt of 4650. Like the WGen 2000, it also has a 212cc, OHV engine with a cast iron sleeve.
It’s easy to set up and most users reported that it started first pull and ran smoothly. Those new to generators found the instruction manual and controls simple to understand.
What Can You Expect to Power?
If you like to go dry camping and need to power a travel trailer then this will easily do the job. If you need it for your RV again this should give you enough power. Most customers purchased it for back up for expected power outages, storms, and hurricanes. Using it for camping was a popular choice as well.
Some examples we found;
‘It was able to handle a fridge, a mini-fridge, lights, and fans’
Freezer, fridge, and fan tested.
Air Conditioner, refrigerator, and microwave
Can run Power Tool equipment such as drills and saws
During Hurricane Florence; it powered a refrigerator, freezer some lights, TV and a fan
There is little to fault about the 3600V excepts its lack of wheels, if you are going to be moving this generator around [it weighs 103lbs].
It doesn’t contain a separate wheel kit so you might want to look a the next model in the range which brings us nicely on to the
WGen 3600
which comes with an integrated handle and never-flat tires to make it easily portable. Apart from this the added wheels, the generator is exactly the same.
Last [but certainly not least] in this range is the dual fuel portable 3600DF which give you the benefit of running it on propane or electric.
If you want all the extras the 3600DF is certainly the model to go for. You get the option of dual fuel and wheels as well. Not only that this model has an electric start, so just one push of a button and you are ready to go.
If you are still on the fence about upgrading to the dual fuel model then maybe a remote start key fob will do it for you, especially on those cold winter days!
Westinghouse WGen 5500 Review
While the 3600 models are adequate enough to power an RV or the household essentials you might want to take a step up and look at the 5500 to see what it can handle.
As usual, you get all the features that are included with the whole range of portable generators including the safety features and low oil shut off function. All you are going to need is the fuel.
You should get around 20 hours run time from a 6.6-gallon tank.
Here are some examples of what it can power;
Homeowners reported
‘Able to run a fridge and 4 to 5 other electric items with power left to spare.’
‘Furnace, lights, 2 fridges and 3 freezers without difficulty.’
‘Enough power for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home and a/c.’
Westinghouse WGen 7500 Review
We have researched a number of different brands but this is certainly one of the highest rated in its class.
You can choose between the standard 7500 or the 7500 dual fuel model. Both come with wheels, push-button start, and remote key fob start. It will run around 16 hours on a 6.6 gallon tank.
As usual, the easy setup and push-button start were thumbs up from users. Many had looked around at other generators but found they got the most bang for their buck with this one.
Remember this isn’t a stationery whole house generator [they come at a price] but it should provide you with all the essentials you need during a storm or power outage. Older folks were able to manage moving it around once it was set up with the wheels on.
Wrapping Up
This is a company that has stood the test of time, 130 years since they first began they are still producing quality products, providing top notch customer service and getting great feedback from their users. If you are looking for a generator for your home or other recreational or work uses then Westinghouse’s are well worth considering.
